Our Core Beliefs

The Bible

The Holy Bible is the authoritative Word of God, and it alone is the final authority for all doctrinal truths. In its original writings, it is inspired, infallible, and inerrant. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Proverbs 30:5; Romans 16: 25-26; Hebrews 4:12; John 17:17)

The Triune God

We believe in one God eternally existing as one essence and three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, each of whom is fully God, yet there is one God. (1 John 5:7; Genesis 1:26; Matthew 3: 16-17, 28:19; Luke 1:35; Isaiah 9: 6: Hebrews 3: 7-11)

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the second person of the Trinity. He is fully God and fully man, and the only person to have ever lived a sinless life. Born of a virgin, He lived without sin, performed miracles, and died on the cross for humanity, atoning for our sins through His shed blood. He rose from the dead on the third day according to the Scriptures, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return again in power and glory. (John 1:1-2, 10: 30; Colossians 2:9; Hebrews 4:15; 1 Peter 2:22; Matthew 1:23; 1 John 2:2; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Mark 16:19; Matthew 24:30; Revelation 19:11-13)

Salvation

The fall of man created a separation between God and humanity, leaving people in a state of hopelessness and subject to eternal condemnation. Out of His love, God, desiring that no one should perish, sent His Son, Jesus Christ, into the world. Through His sacrificial death and the shedding of His blood on the cross, Jesus provided the only way to salvation and the forgiveness of sins. Salvation is granted when individuals place their faith in Jesus' death and resurrection as the sufficient payment for their sins. It is a gift from God, received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ—His death, burial, and resurrection. This gift of salvation is not achieved by our works or human efforts but solely through God's grace. (Ephesians 2:8-9; Galatians 2:16, 3:8; Titus 3:5; Romans 10:9-10; Acts 16:31; Hebrews 9:22).

Humanity

All humanity is created in the image of God and possesses intrinsic dignity and worth. Man fell and sin has fractured all things, leaving the world in desperate need of salvation. (Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:4-5; Romans 5:12-21; 2 Corinthians 5:19)

"Am I invited even if I don't agree with your core beliefs?"

Absolutely! One of our core values is, "People belong before they believe." Even if you don't hold the same core beliefs as us, we still believe that we have more in common than we don't. While disagreement with certain beliefs is acceptable, and discussion and questioning are encouraged, the core doctrines of the faith are foundational to the identity and mission of our church.
